Extensive knowledge

We have extensive knowledge of and reach into communities across Surrey, due to our work delivering Healthwatch Surrey, Giving Carers a Voice and Combating Drugs Partnership Public Involvement services locally.

Efficient and effective

We are out and about talking to local people across Surrey all the time, with a particular interest in those who are at risk of poorer health outcomes, or who might find it harder to have their voices heard. It is efficient and effective for commissioners and providers to work with us on a wider range of projects, leveraging our existing contacts and expertise, and ensuring the knowledge and insight gathered stays within the local system and is utilised to the benefit of all Surrey residents.

Known and trusted

We are already known by and trusted by communities and NHS/local authorities due to our independence, our understanding of the complexity of services in Surrey, and the pressures the system is under. We are adept at seeing the big picture context, whilst always putting individual voices and experiences front and centre.

Collaborative working

We are an active leader within Surrey’s VCSE Alliance, giving us excellent relationships with the voluntary and community sector. We believe in working collaboratively with VCSE partners where appropriate, building on each others’ strengths, harnessing their expertise and building their sustainability.

Competitive service

Our structure and approach, specialising in local engagement across multiple contracts and projects, with centralised support services, means we can offer a highly competitive service to clients, without compromising on quality.

Well respected

We have a successful track record, being well-respected as a high-performing local Healthwatch with excellent relationships across the Surrey system. We have delivered a wide range of projects beyond our Healthwatch Surrey work to budget and deadline, receiving praise for the quality of our work.

Improved Access – PCN project

“We recently commissioned Healthwatch to undertake a patient engagement project to learn the views of some of our local patients regarding access to primary care services to help shape service provision for a new contract beginning in October 2022. From the outset, Healthwatch took time to understand our requirements and prepare a comprehensive plan, communicating with updates throughout the process. Healthwatch’s extensive experience in undertaking this level of engagement and the detailed responses documented in the final report, have really added weight to our overall evaluation. We definitely intend to re-engage with Healthwatch at a later date with a follow up patient survey and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to secure impartial, comprehensive views of local people accessing healthcare services.”

Patient Feedback Project for the PinPoint Cancer Test

“Your facilitation of the group and chat was spot-on, and we got some really valuable feedback (which has since been echoed in another session too). Thank you again!”

The Sandy Hill Engagement Project

“What can I say! Both myself and the Chair of Trustees who I sent it to have been in tears reading this. It is fabulous, thank you, and will be so helpful in many ways. We have a strategic planning meeting next week and this will be so useful to inform decisions about future objectives and outcomes so the timing is great.””

Ramsay Healthcare – Ashtead Hospital Engagement

I am really pleased with the qualitative patient engagement Luminus undertook for us at Ashtead hospital. They spoke to a good cross section of inpatients and outpatients, private and NHS. The themes really resonated with us and gave us some tangible things to change and improve. They captured all the key points and it’s been a really useful project.
