Supporting people through the NHS complaints process
We are responsible for providing the Independent Health Complaints Advocacy service in Surrey and have partnered with Surrey Independent Living Charity (SILC) to provide this service.
The service exists to make sure that people in Surrey who use the NHS are supported to raise and resolve issues that arise with their treatment should something go wrong. By following the NHS Complaints Procedure, people have the opportunity to address, and hopefully resolve, any issues at a local level. However, this can be challenging for some people to manage on their own and so the advocacy service is available to support them through the process by explaining how the Complaints Procedure works and helping them to prepare written complaints and attend meetings with the NHS.

How to access this service
If you would like advocacy support to make a complaint about an NHS service you have received or to find out more about the service, please contact Surrey Independent Living Charity (SILC).
To self-refer, you can download and complete the advocacy referral forms and email or post them to SILC using the details below. Please note a signature is needed on the forms
